In Charlotte And The Rock, Charlotte has always really wanted a pet, so when her parents present her with one for her birthday she expects a cat, dog, or maybe a bird. Instead, she receives a rock.  Charlotte is disappointed at first – rocks can’t cuddle or fetch or even pretend to eat her homework – but it isn’t long before she and her rock, Dennis, are the best of friends.  Charlotte loves Dennis. If only he could love her back…or can he?

My Thoughts:
Charlotte and the Rock is such a fun read for all ages.  My six-year old has read this book time and time again and still loves looking at the wonderfully done illustrations. Little Charlotte makes the best of the situation when she is given a pet rock for her birthday and loves it as if it’s a real pet. There is surprise twist at the end, but you’ll have to pick up a copy of the book to find out what it is.

Charlotte And The Rock can be found at your local book retailer or online at stores like Amazon.
