Hey, Andrew! Teach Me Some Greek! – Level 2
One of the things I love about being on the homeschool review crew is that our family is introduced to curriculum and programs that otherwise we wouldn’t have known about. Not only are we introduced to these products, but we get the privilege to try them and to share our thoughts with other homeschool families.

A look at the program
The 148 page workbook includes 30 lessons that’s recommended for 2nd through 4th grade students. In the back of the book, you will find flashcards pages that you can use to go along with your lessons. Review the flash cards found in the back daily until your student feels confident.
Topics that are covered
Throughout the Hey, Andrew! Teach Me Some Greek! workbook, your child will learn Biblical Greek, the Greek Alphabet, and how to read and write Greek words through matching, puzzles and dot-to-dot worksheets. In the level 2 book, lessons 1-7 focus on alphabet review. Since we were new to Greek ‘N’ Stuff we found this very helpful and it didn’t take long for my fourth grader to get it! And while each level builds upon itself, they do recommend for older students or even adults to start out with level 3 when beginning this program.
Workbook pages are laid out very inviting. Your student is asked to trace the letter, write the letter a few times in which you will also repeat the letter.
For example, in lesson 1 your student will cover Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Epsilon, and Zeta. Reading this you may think that it’s a pretty hefty list of letters when just starting out. However, the lessons are designed to be broken down. So while lesson one may cover six letters, you can choose to spend 6 days on it. We generally spend three days a week on our worksheets and incorporating the flash cards daily. However, when I see my ten year old is getting stuck then we slow down until he masters it, the same as we would for any other subject.
Pronunciation CD
Let’s talk about the included Pronunciation CD that comes along with the program. Let’s be honest here, when it comes to learning a new language we can easily have our doubt as to whether we are pronouncing the words correctly. That’s when the Pronunciation CD comes in handy. This CD was part of our set and we have definitely incorporated it into some of our learning. The tracks include the alphabet song (which we listen to every day), the Reader (a Biblical Greek Primer), and pronunciation of the Greek letters, as well as pronunciation of new vocabulary. Have the addition of the CD has been a life-saver at times and I feel confident that I’m teaching him to pronounce the words exactly as they are suppose to be pronounced.
Last but certainly not least, you also receive an answer key with your set. This is a straight up answer booklet that doesn’t have any bells and whistles, but does the job that it’s intended to do. The answers are arranged by the workbook page number with the activity type given when needed.
So far we have really been enjoying this program It’s worked out well for our family and my ten year old looks forward to working on this daily. I’m constantly impressed with how much he’s learned in such a short amount of time.
