Who said Valentine’s Day is just for people? The boys decided to gift our birds a Valentine as well. They made this really cute and simple Valentine’s Day Bird Feeder out of cereal.

Valentine’s Day Bird Feeder Craft

Pipe Cleaners

We used the Fruit Spins to give a variety of colors for the boys. I thought for sure someone would end up with a solid blue or red heart feeder but I was wrong. They both decided to do patterns using all the colors. They really wanted to put a heart inside a heart, but with the bulk of the cereal, they weren’t able to make a smaller one into a heart shape.
All there is to this craft is to put the cereal on the pipe cleaner. When it’s almost filled with cereal, just take and twist the two ends together.
Once the two ends are twisted together, form it into a heart shape. I used the Jute cord to hang ours from the trees. This would be a perfect craft for preschoolers that are working on their fine motor skills.
