We have been adding a new book to our bedtime routine that both the boys love. I Am: 40 Reasons to Trust God by Diane Stortz, illustrated by Diane Le Feyer.
This book is unique in many ways. One of those are that it goes through the names of God and relates each one to an event or story in the Bible. Some of the names my boys aren’t familiar with, so it’s a wonderful learning experience. It explains the name and characteristics of God in a way that children can understand.
I Am: 40 Reasons to Trust God if filled with 40 stories in the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. At the top of each story it has a name of God and show you how to pronounce it. The stories are the perfect length and the beautiful illustrations bring them to life.
Along with each story, it features a Scripture verse, and prayer. Also at the end there is a feature called “What Does It Mean?” This part is truly unique in my opinion. It takes the story that the children just heard, and turns it into something that they can relate to. This is one of my favorite parts because it does help the kids relate what they just heard to something they may have experienced in their daily lives.
After that you have the “Learn More” and “What Happened Next?” Section. The “Learn More” is a great way to extend your reading. It directs you to specific verses in the Bible that talks about the story.
To go along with the I Am: 40 Reasons to Trust God are:
Flash cards and a matching game to help your kids learn the 40 names of God!
6 free coloring pages. Each coloring page includes a scripture.
Also, be sure to check out the flip book for a closer look at the inside of this amazing book.
WIN,WIN,WIN

I’d say “Jehovah Rapha”, the God who heals.
