As you all know from my other posts, I am a big no, huge fan of chocolate! What you may not know is I am also a big fan of spicy food. I like natural spicy foods such as hot peppers. I will also try hot sauce on just about anything I see fitting. The running joke when I was pregnant was that my little girl would come out a hot tamale, a spicy chicken wing, or that of the like. If I had to choose between chocolate and something spicy I would definitely choose the chocolate no questions asked. However, what would you think if I told you there was a company that made spicy truffle bars in various varieties? I would have never guessed it myself nor would I have known just how hot chocolate could get if I had never found Cowgirl Chocolates.

I just recently found Cowgirl Chocolates but the company is by no means new. In fact, it was founded in 1997 by the head cowgirl, Marylin Lysohir.
Cowgirl Chocolates has won a total of 19 product awards and 2 packaging awards and is located in Moscow, Idaho USA. It has also been featured on the Food Network on “Unwrapped” and “Extreme Cuisine” and on CNBC “On the Money”. They have also been written up in the New York Times, InStyle, the Toronto Star among others.
Every bite is divine!
I received the Spicy Toffee, Spicy Raspberry, Spicy Almond and Mild Hazelnut. I tried the Mild Hazelnut as soon as it arrived and after trying the rest I found this one to be my favorite. The three spicy bars had a serious kick to them! The head cowgirl forewarned me but all I kept thinking was there was noway chocolate could be all that hot. The first bite of the Spicy Toffee definitely made a believer out of me. Don’t get me wrong, as a fan of spicy foods I thoroughly enjoyed trying each bar. My husband who never eats chocolate really liked the spicy bars as well and I even caught him sneaking a couple extra pieces aside from the one I made him try.
