It’s hard to believe that summer is half over with. We have taken a very relaxed approach when it comes this summer, but I still love adding fun and educational things to our day. Recently we have been loving the Aquarelle Monet set from Timberdoodle. It’s perfect for pulling out on those hot summer days to help pass the time.
Aquarelle Monet:
Aquarelle is a company that’s trying to take the guesswork out of watercolor painting which is perfect for beginners. My fourth-grader has been wanting to learn water color for awhile and this was a great way to start since I have little knowledge when it comes to using watercolor paints.
Aquarelle has designed the pictures to color with a water-resistant technique, which means that the paint flows off the wax barriers and adheres only to the coloring spaces. This allows the painter to create a masterpiece no matter what their level of expertise is. After doing the first painting, my little guy for sure has more confidence when it comes to painting more watercolor pictures.
The Aquarelle Monet set includes the following items:
• Three pictures that are on a thick card stock (Monet’s landscape scenes)
• A double-ended paintbrush
• A color mixing guide
• A Standard pipette plus an additional dropper
• Paint Palette
Overall Thoughts:
While feeling a little intimidated upon opening this pack, I knew I wanted to give it a try on my own. My thoughts were, once my nine-year old realized that it wasn’t as difficult as it looked, then he would give it a try. After watching me use it, he realized there was nothing to worry about. This set is perfect for beginners.
