To add to the fun of this contest that hopefully all my readers will participate in, I was asked to share one of our family favorite sandwich creations. I would like to introduce you to what I like to call the “Hot Roast Beef Southern Sandwich”.Hot Roast Beef Souther Sandwich

Hot Roast Beef Southern Sandwich?

First off, you’ll need this list of ingredients:ingredients

Arnold® Sourdough Bread
1 Bell Pepper
1 Sweet Onion
1 Pack of Mushrooms
Roast Beef (store bought or what you have prepared at home)
Baby Swiss Cheese
Horseradish Sauce (to taste)
Mayo (for toasting the bread)

First off, slice the onions & bell peppers and sautee.  Once onions and peppers are almost ready, add the mushrooms.ingredients2

Meanwhile, heat up the roast beef in a separate pan. Once roast beef has been warmed, and veggies are cooked to your liking it’s time to assemble the sandwich.

First off, take the Arnold® Sourdough bread and add horseradish sauce to taste. We love horseradish, so for the most part I don’t measure this, I do put it on both slices of bread.ingredients3

After horseradish sauce has been added, I then add the roast beef, veggies and end with 2 slices of Baby Swiss Cheese.

ingredient4

Put a thin layer of mayo on both sides of the bread ingredients5and toast it until lightly browned and cheese is melted.ingredient7

That’s it.  It’s now ready to enjoy!

I’ve been wanting to try the mayo instead of butter spread.

    1. My husband has always preferred it. I admit that I didn’t try it until last year. We went camping and the kiddos wanted toast on the grill. Guess what? I didn’t have butter but I had mayo and it worked perfectly for that too.
