Why leave all the fighting and world-saving to the guys? Following in the footsteps of Buffy Summers from Buffy and the Vampire Slayer and Black Widow from The Avengers, Ava the Monster Slayer teachers both girls and boys that they can be strong, brave and find their courage when needed.
Ava, based on Lisa Maggiore’s own daughter, must rescue her beloved Piggy left in the dryer in the basement. She knows there are ferocious monsters lurking in the dark. So she dons her brother’s superhero cape and sword, puts on pink rain boots and a sparkly princess crown. The monsters are scary and smell terrible but Ava is determined to rescue Piggy.
What We Thought:
My kids and I loved this book! Ava is such a great role model for girls and boys and the illustrations bring the story to life! Ava the Monster Slayer is about a little girl that must rescue her beloved Piggy from the basement dryer. She knows there are ferocious monsters lurking in the dark…will she be able to beat the monsters in order to save her piggy? My boys (ages 4 & 8) were on the edge of their seats while I read this book to them. We highly recommend this book to boys and girls of all ages!
Ava the Monster Slayer is the perfect bedtime story for this Halloween and all year round, and can be purchased with a SRP of $16.99.
