Several years ago I decided that it was time for a change. I was the heaviest I had ever been and my health was declining. I should not of been having the health problems that I was having at only the age 35. I was tired all the time and just not truly happy with where I was. I started out walking, then jogging and then lifting weights. Two years later and I am still going strong. Not only do I stay healthy for me, but my kids are learning to be healthy as well.

Let’s face it there are no quick fixes when it comes to getting healthy. You have to choose your foods and work hard. It never gets easier, you just get more fit and then you push it to the limits again.
Working out is a major stress reliever for me and it’s something that I look forward to daily.
This summer, Balance Bar (one of my favorite bars) has teamed up with certified trainer, Holly Del Rosso, for the Balance Bar Shape Up Challenge. This challenge is 40 days filled with 30-minute workouts and healthy eating tips. By visiting the Balance Bar Facebook Page you can learn more and get exercise tips so you can join the challenge.
As part of the challenge, Balance Bar sent me a gift card to visit Walmart and buy Balance Bars to try. There are tons of selections to pick from but a personal favorite of mine is the cookie dough and my boys love the peanut butter. I always keep a few of these bars in my purse for those just in case moments. It seems like every time we get into the car my three year old immediately announces he is hungry. I personally think he is just wanting a bar. 🙂
What We Think:
I personally love the taste of Balance Bars. I sometimes have them as a snack or even as a meal depending on how crazy busy the day gets. I also love the fact that it has the macros broken down on the bar since I do track those. Sure I can always figure it myself but it’s such a time saver to see it on the bar.
