With L getting ready to start Pre-Kindergarten we are working more on letter recognition and sounds. Recently we had the chance to check out The Alphabet of Bugs: An ABC Book
The Alphabet of Bugs

This is not your typical ABC book at all.  The pages are filled with vibrant photographs of bugs that start with each letter which really gives kids a wider range of how the letters can be used.  So many books always have A is for Apple, but not this one. In The Alphabet of Bugs: An ABC Book; the letter A is: Ailanthus Webworm Moth artfully alights Amber.  It gives several letter A words as you can see which really helps kids to understand that the letter A isn’t just used for one or two words. This is the picture you will find for the letter A.

My four year old is big on details and being a boy, obviously loves bugs.  These pictures really pull him and gets us talking about more than the alphabet.  He asks question about the bugs which means we also have a little bit of a science class too.

About the book:

Travel through the alphabet to learn about the many beautiful and unusually named bugs found in nature. Valerie Gates’s charming alliterative style paired with Ann Cutting’s stunning photographs of all types of bugs is sure to delight curious children and adults alike. Spectacular photographs of insects of all kinds will inspire children to learn more about the different creatures found in the natural world. This is an ideal gift for new parents and for young nature-loving children!

This amazing and beautiful ABC Book will be available for purchase on June 2 and has a SRP of $14.99.  If you have a little insect fan in your house that loves to learn, this book just may be perfect!
