The more we talk to God in our daily lives, the stronger our faith becomes. I’ll be the first time admit that I’m not always sure how to pray about certain things…but Jesus says that prayer is something to be learned and I strongly believe that.
As I child, was always around prayer, but I was never taught how to pray. That’s why it’s so important to me that my children have the opportunity to learn to pray at a young age. These are habits that will last a lifetime and I want them to know that they can go to God with whatever is on their heart…no matter how small.
Recently, we have been enjoying the book, I Can Learn To Pray. This book is filled with 52 devotions to help guide families to understand prayer and is perfect for ages 3-8. The colorful illustrations are perfect when it comes to keeping your child’s attention and each devotion is just a couple of pages. They are broken up into weeks which I think is awesome. This allows us to break it up over several days and opens daily discussion with my boys.
I Can Learn To Pray is broken down into 7 sections. Those sections are:
• Section 1: Learning to Pray
• Section 2: “Thank You” Prayers
• Section 3: “Wow!” Prayers
• Section 4: “I’m Sorry” Prayers
• Section 5: “Help” Prayers
• Section 6: How to Listen
• Section 7: Jesus Prayers
I simply love how the words of each sections is geared towards kids. It’s such a wonderful devotional and filled with tons of ideas for kids that will allow them to put what they are learning throughout the book into their day to day life.
