Carrington Farms Review

At our house we seem to go through a ton of coconut oil.  I have a certain brand that I generally purchase but recently we had the opportunity to try the Carrington Farm brand of Carrington Farms Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, Coconut Cooking Oil, Organic Milled Flax Seed.  I have been a fan of their flax seed for some time now but this was the first time that I put their coconut oil to the test.

 

 I had never heard of  Coconut Cooking Oil before so this was the one I tried first.  I always use the typical coconut oil and let it reach room temperature.  The only problems with that since I do prefer coconut oil over others, the regular coconut oil makes it rather hard for salad dressings since we all know it thickens back once it cools.  The coconut cooling oil works great for salad dressings.  I used to make the dressing below and it was a hit.

3 Tablespoons red wine vinegar
3 Tablespoons fresh lemon juice
3 Tablespoons Dijon mustard
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
6 Tablespoons Coconut Cooking Oil

1. Combine vinegar, lemon juice, mustard, garlic, salt and pepper in a medium bowl; whisk to blend.
2.  Slowly add oil while whisking; mix well.

 

 Next I tried their Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil which is fantastic.  Now when I say we go through a lot of Coconut oil, we really do.  Pretty much everything we eat ends up having coconut oil in it, but I love the flavors it adds to the foods.  I toss green beans in it, add a little seasoning and toss them in the oven to cook, I prepare our eggs with it, the list could go on and on.  Carrington Farms brand compared perfectly to the brand that I have always use and the price is very comparable.  All in all we were very pleased with this product.

 

 Now when it comes to flax, I stick it in a lot of things. It goes in smoothies, homemade granola bars, oats, and even sprinkled over my eggs in the mornings.  My husband will even sprinkle some in his cereal when he has a bowl.  Carrington Farms Flax has been a product that I have used in our home for awhile and it’s fantastic!! We have never been displeased with this product.
