Celebrate 100th Anniversary Of The National Park Service With “59 Illustrated Parks”

Anderson Design Group is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the United States National Park Service in 2016 with the release of their 59 Illustrated National Parks, Celebrating 100 Years of Wilderness and Wonder coffee table book. Written by Joel Anderson and his son, Nathan Anderson, the book features original poster illustrations, photography, facts and stories about our great American wilderness parks and the people who protect and preserve them.national parksThe United States has 59 protected areas known as national parks, which are operated by the National Park Service, an agency of the Department of the Interior. The Organic Act of 1916 created the National Park Service “to conserve the scenery and the natural and historic objects and wildlife therein, and to provide for the enjoyment of the same in such manner and by such means as will leave them unimpaired for the enjoyment of future generations.” Twenty-seven states have national parks, as do the territories of American Samoa and the United States Virgin Islands. 59 Illustrated National Parks includes 71 full color posters from the Anderson Design Group’s award winning Art & Soul Collection, including 12 original oil paintings of national parks by Kai Carpenter. The book also includes beautiful wildlife and scenic photos of each park, along with stats, travel tips, an illustrated map of the United States showing where each park is located, an historic overview of the National Park Service, and historic facts about all 59 wilderness parks in the National Park System.
