Our little dog is part of the family and we always want to make sure that she gets the best dog food available. Not only do we want it to be good for her but we also want her to enjoy it as well. We have noticed that it is very hard to find a variety of food for dogs when you are looking for not only top quality but also for a small dog. We were very excited when we not only discovered Cesar, but that our little Lola loved it!!
Little Lola was first introduced to Cesar brand about a year ago by trying out their tasty treats which are an absolutely perfect food for small dogs. It was like from that point on she has been hooked on this brand. She gets super excited if she sees me getting her special feeding dish out just for this particular meal. We recently started testing the waters and having her try the Cesar Meaty Selects and so far so good. She gobbles it down in no time. The reason I can say that we are testing the waters is because the Cesar Meaty Selects come in a resealable 10-ounce can so we can divide up what she eats. I know that if I put the entire can down to her she would eat it which wouldn’t be good.
When you introduce a new food to your pets be sure to introduce it slowly. Some pets have very sensitive tummies and you definitely want to make sure that the new food is going to agree with them. Here is a break down of the best way to introduce a new food to your pet:
- For the first two days or so, your dog’s meals should be about 75% old food and 25% new food. Mix the two foods together, don’t keep them separated.
- If the first couple of days of the transition go smoothly, you can mix 50% of your dog’s old food with 50% of the new food on days 3 and 4. On days 5 and 6, your dog’s meals should be about 75% new food and only 25% of the old food.
- On day 7 let your dog enjoy 100% of the new Cesar dog food!
