DIY Mustache Wax

I’m going to go ahead and say it..I never in a million years knew that there were so many products for beards on the market! Seriously, the possibilities seem endless.

It wasn’t until my husband decided to get serious about growing a beard that I discovered all the different products…and being a HUGE DIY person, I couldn’t help but start experimenting when it comes to making different mustache and beard products for my husband.

We’ve had a few fails, we’ve sniffed different mixtures of oils (good and bad), we’ve spend time in the kitchen cooking up different concoctions, and while our oil choices change from time to time, our base stays the same.

Mustache Wax is without a doubt an essential for my husband, and chances are you’ll always find that he has it on hand and since a little goes a long way, I’m don’t feel like I’m always making it.

What you’ll need to make Mustache Wax:

1 Tablespoon Bees Wax Pellets
1 Tablespoon Coconut Oil
15 Drops Shutran™ Essential Oil (from Young Living)
.5 ounce metal tins

Instructions:
Set up double boiler and once water is boiling, you’ll add the beeswax and coconut oil. If you don’t have a double-boiler, you can simply place the two ingredients into a small canning jar and place in a small pot of boiling water. Both ways work great.

Stir occasionally as the two ingredients melt. The beeswax will take a little longer to melt than the coconut oil.

Once it’s completely melted, remove from heat and add in your oil of choice. We use either the Shutran Essential oil from Young Living in this, or half Hawaiian Sandalwood and half Cedarwood, but you can certainly play around with different scents.

Once you have added into your essential oil, carefully pour the wax into the tins and let them set uncovered until they solidify.
