What is Doodle Your Day?
Doodle Your Day is a 244-page softcover doodling notebook. Inside you’ll find 365 doodle and journaling prompts for the young artist. Recommended for ages 8+, this is an awesome way to introduce your child to micro-journaling.
What types of prompts will I find inside?
Inside this book, you’ll find a variety of prompts, from what made them laugh today, the weather, and so much more.
For example:
July 31 is “Today I learned something new” – The child can choose to write or draw what they learned.
August 11 is “This is what I had for lunch today” – This has a plate so that your child can draw their lunch
How we used it:
This has been a fun addition to our homeschool. It’s pulled out as part of our morning routine and has proven a great way to start day. The prompts are always fun and since there is more drawing than writing, he does great with it.
Not only does he look forward to drawing and/or writing in the Doodle Your Day daily, but with each and every picture his imagination comes through. To him, it isn’t just a picture. It’s a story and he tells it in his drawings, and then to me. While he doesn’t write it all down in his journal, I always go back and write down what he says about the pictures. He’ll love pulling these and reading these one day for sure.
