With summer coming to an end, a lot of us hitting the roads heading to the woods on a camping trip, or maybe even to the beach for a little fun in the sand. Whatever your destination may be, one thing is for certain. The car has to be packed with necessities and activities for the littles. I honestly couldn’t imagine taking a car trip with our two boys without having a travel basket that’s always filled with travel games and activities, as well as items that they can enjoy once we reach our destination.
This past month, my six-year old discovered the MagicBrix from edushape . He has had so much fun with building different things with these Brix, that when we were given the opportunity to work with edushape on their Travel Brix, we couldn’t resist.
First off if you have littles and aren’t familiar with edushape, then you need to definitely check them out. The company kicked off 35 years ago, and originally catered to the preschool market. Soon after, parents fell in love with the toys they offer. The toys not only provide hours of fun for ages 0-5, but they also help reinforce age-appropriate developmental skills.
The Travel Brix that we’ve taken on a few road trips so far offer the same soft bristle blocks features that you get with the other Brix sets, but what sets them apart is that it’s a smaller set (33 pieces) and includes a 6″x 8″ travel board.
With soft and flexible nubby shapes interlock effortlessly with each other from practically every side which gives your child more freedom with designing amazing creations. They are just as simple to take apart as they are to put together and the travel board is perfect for keeping everything in place.
Pros:
This was perfect for travel. It fit into our travel box that we keep in the vehicle when it comes to road trips, there weren’t tiny pieces to keep track of once we reached our destination and the kids had so much using their imagination and building different items.
Cons:
Honestly when it comes to the product itself, I don’t really have one. I will say that the item that could be added as far as truly making it a travel item would be a little drawstring cloth travel bag that would hold the pieces and the travel board. I didn’t have one on hand that would hold all the pieces that this set comes with so we opted to use a larger plastic, zip-closure back which did the job.
