Entenmann’s Little Bites and Smurfs

I’ll be the first to admit that our family rarely heads out to catch a movie on the big screen. I know for some that’s hard to believe, but in all honesty, my boys just prefer to enjoy it as a “family night” at home, filled with fun snacks. Smurf’s: The Lost Village was one of those films that they insisted on heading to the theaters to see, and could hardly wait until it was available on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD.

National Blueberry Day

With the release of Smurf’s: The Lost Village actually landing on National Blueberry Day, we decided to have a little fun with snacks for our family movie time. I let the boys brainstorm on ideas and ways to incorporate their Entenmann’s Little Bites and Smurfs into fun creations. Then we headed off to the store.

Food on a stick

My oldest decided that he wanted to do food on a stick. He’s says that food on a stick is more fun to eat, and he was able to layer his treats. This snack was pretty simple. We simply took skewers, strawberries, marshmallows, blueberries and of course the Little Bites® and layered it on the stick. Honestly, this was a huge hit.

We even served this up during a play date prior for a test run and it received rave reviews. I guess he was right. There’s just something about having food on a stick.

Parfait anyone?

Luke on the other hand had a different idea in mind when it came to his snack creation. He is a huge fan of ice cream and decided that we should make ice cream sundaes using the muffins, so that’s what we did.

We started with Entenmann’s® Little Bites® as the bottle layer, next we added a layer of fresh strawberries and blueberries. Followed by a homemade strawberry sauce.

We repeated the layers one more time and then finished with whipped cream, blueberries and strawberries.

The end result was absolutely delicious.  With the fresh berries and then the added blueberry flavor we received from the Little Bites® made this dessert a favorite for sure. In fact, they even requested it for an after dinner dessert the next day.  Obviously I couldn’t refuse since I still had all the ingredients on hand.

You could say they enjoyed every bite. I was waiting around in hopes that one of them would leave a little for me to enjoy, but no such luck. For this dessert, they licked it clean.

Don’t have time to make one of the snacks/desserts listed above, why not just grab up a pack Little Bites® Smurf Blueberry Muffins.
