Go apple picking at a local orchard. This is such a fun and affordable activity that our family looks forward to every year. The secret is timing just right so that our favorite apples are available.

Enjoy a cup of warm apple cider while making family memories relaxing on the front porch. Cherish your time together as a family, and talk about your day.

Attend a fall festival. Fall means an abundance of festivals, and most are free and filled with activities for the entire family.

Take a scenic drive to enjoy all the fall foliage. Take a day trip with the family taking in all the beauty that the fall season brings. Stop by a small town you haven’t checked out yet. I may be partial to fall in the mountains of Western North Carolina since that’s where we call home.Pumpkin Patch

Head to your favorite pumpkin farm and spend the day having fun as a family trying to find that perfect pumpkin for carving. Don’t forget to grab one for cooking too!

Go on a hayride. This is one of the best ways to enjoy all the beauties of fall while spending time with family.

Get lost in a corn maze! This time of year, you’re sure to find a corn maze. It’s always fun finding your way through a corn maze during a beautiful fall day.

Going hiking is at the top of the list when it comes to fall favorites. The mountains call us even more as the weather starts the cooldown, cool breezes begin to blow and fall colors paint our beautiful mountains in Western North Carolina. What’s not to love.

Enjoy a camping trip as a family. Whether your family prefers tent camping or glamping, fall is one of the best times to head outdoors.

Virginia Creeper Trail

Take a bike ride. Every year our family packs up and heads to Virginia to bike the Creeper Trails. While the mornings are fairly cold (28 degrees) the scenery is breath-taking.
