Famous Figures of the American Revolution by Cathy Diaz-Luckie is a beautifully illustrated book filled with 10 different paper figures that help to put history in motion.
Famous Figures of the American Revolution
Through the course of our 3rd grade year, we studied early American history and recently have been recapping as we close out our school year. The Famous Figures of the American Revolution has been wonderful. My boys love created each of the figures that we talked about this year.
Each of the Famous Figures of the American Revolution illustration is based on authentic paintings and sculptures. Each figure is very easy to assemble and are preinted on a heavy card stock.

How we used Famous Figures of the American Revolution:
Instead of using this throughout our school year, we have opted to use this as part of our year-end recap. We have very much enjoyed learning about these amazing figures in history this past year, and are still enjoying the learning process.
In my opinion, the great thing about this book is that you can use it as part of the recommended 3rd grade curriculum or as a stand alone. With this book having a companion reading list for each figure that can be used as read-alouds or independent readers. Not only that, but it also includes a detailed biography section that provides key information about each revolutionary figure.
We really enjoyed picking out one of the famous figures, reading the book and creating the figure. The boys usually started the figure while I read the book. They also quickly figured out that one preferred coloring while the other had much rather cut.
You can find Famous Figures of the America Revolution along with other’s in the series at Timberdoodle.com. As I mentioned earlier, you can purchase this as part of their 3rd-grade curriculum pack, or as a stand along product. Either way, you really can’t go wrong with this item.
Would I purchase this item again?
I actually would and have purchased Famous Figures as part of our upcoming school year. We have added Famous Figures of Ancient Times as part of our first grade curriculum.
