Have you ever heard of WEDGiTS? I recently was introduced to WEDGiTS with their 15-pc starter. I have no idea where this product has been hiding and why it was never on my radar as a MUST HAVE, but they are awesome!
The particular set that we had the opportunity to test is recommended for ages 2-6 but honestly, my eight year old has enjoyed building with this set as well. Would he have more fun with a bigger set for higher ages? I know he would, but he never complained about this. He and his four year old brother would build all sorts of things using this set and asked for additional sets which I happily purchased. While they love building and creating, they hate tearing down. They like leaving their creations up for a couple of days which in the end requires more than 15 pieces.
The Imagination Start set of building blocks provides six (6) different blocks that are all “non-choking”. Sometimes referred to as square donuts, the Starter Imagination set has an easy to play design that has nesting and stacking features for young hands. With all parts big enough to keep out of a choke tube, you are assured of comfortable play for toddlers and older siblings which I love. I will admit that my four year old is still bad to stick things in his mouth even though he knows he shouldn’t, so while they are playing with these I don’t have to worry at all!
The open-ended design of WEDGiTS building blocks introduce the spatial world of angles, shapes, color, patterning, matching and creative play. I love watching my four year old mess with the different shapes and sizes to get the design he is looking for and even my eight year old has to do that at times. It’s all about learning how to stack at different angles and sizes to create something super cool.
