I tried jumping on the stainless steel bottle wagon..I really did, but for some reason I just couldn’t get past the taste it gave my water. I literally drink over a gallon of water a day, our entire family basically only drinks water, so to put it in something that makes it taste funky to me just isn’t what I want to do.
I have noticed that we are starting to see a lot of glass bottles as an alternative to stainless, but the problem there is traveling with them, having kids around them and let’s face it..glass is heavy. I’m pretty hesitant to take glass outdoors or to toss in a travel bag, which is why for the most part I grab my trusty plastic water bottles.
Recently I had the chance to test out the Glasstic Glass Water bottle and guess what? It didn’t give my water a weird taste (because it’s glass) and on top of that I could even put my pre-workout in it and not have it leaving the bottle tasting like it afterwards. With my plastic bottles, they usually end up making my water taste like pre-workout even when washed and that’s not cool either. Clean: I’ll be honest here. When it first arrived, I was sure it was going to be a pain to clean. Seriously, all my years of taking apart sippy cups quickly came to mind, but I was so wrong. Temperate: Double layered protection with a space between the glass and plastic which provides for total condensation protection and some additional insulation for your beverage. Won’t make a mess on your wood table!
Easy to Use: Leak-proof flip cap lid to “drink on the go” and a safety lock to prevent accidental opening & leakage. It did feel a little awkward drinking out of the bottle the first time. The spout has a different angle that a lot of bottles on the market.
All in all we really love this water bottle. It was easy to clean and honestly I didn’t think it was all that heavy. It was obviously heavier than a plastic water bottle, but not by much. Also, if you order from their site, you’ll receive a FREE bottle brush with each order.
