Recently my boys had the chance to preview the movie, Golden Shoes. My eight-year old was excited to watch this since he loves soccer, but this movie isn’t just about soccer…it’s so much more!
As long as he could remember, eight-year-old Christian Larou (Christian Koza) dreamed of being a great soccer player like his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo. When his father is deployed to Afghanistan and his mother is hospitalized, he pours himself into the game he loves. With the help of some very special shoes, can Christian lead his team to the championship, inspire an entire nation, and bring his family together again?
As I mentioned earlier, my eight-year old was excited to watch this movie since it had soccer in it. He sat down to watch it while I was busy and enjoyed it so much, we both had to watch it a second time.
It’s so much more than just soccer. It touches on perseverance and family as well. All in all it sends out a good message for kids. The only thing I wasn’t personally crazy about was the language. I was a little thrown off by that since it is a DOVE endorsed film. I really didn’t find it necessary to throw a few choice words in there since this is a children’s movie.
Golden Shoes is available for purchase with a SRP of $19.98.
