My boys love having Bible study daily. They have several different study guides and books that they choose from daily. I think that’s what keeps it fun an interesting for them. My three year old learns tons from songs and smaller books and while my seven year does listen to them, he is at the point where he wants to know more. When we finish with my three year old, that’s when we pull out books that offer more information on what we were reading.
Recently we had the opportunity to review Illustrated Family Bible Stories
and it is absolutely amazing!! It gives him information and topics that aren’t found in a lot of the bible stories books on the market.
About:
Help Bible history come a live for children as well as new believers so they know these true events that changed the world forever.
We live in a visually oriented society where people learn from a blend of both text and images. This collection of events and teachings from Scripture explores selected chapters, verses, and provides additional highlights into:
- More than 200 Biblical account, psalms, proverbs, prophecies, laws and letters
- The daily life of people living in the Old and New Testament times, as well as plants, animals, and Bible landscapes
- Who’s who in the Bible, maps and diagrams, a Bible quiz and more!
With the help of maps, photographs, and diagrams, the ancient cultures of the Bible are set in a context that can be readily understood. In addition, specially written teachings helps to educate today’s young reader in understanding the Bible’s meaning and its relevance for everyday life.
What We Thought:As most know there are tons of Bible Story books on the market. Some are outstanding while others leave much to be desired. We have a few that we have been displeased with but this one ranks as one of our top ones. Obviously it doesn’t have the scripture word for word but they learn so much. Each story has beautifully illustrations and the sides of the pages have short facts as you can see in the picture below.
This picture is Moses Stands On Holy Ground. My three year old loves the story of the burning busy. He has it in his Bible flap-book and in another Bible stories book. We read this story at least once a day and even in the Illustrated Family Bible Stories
it is simple enough for him to understand which is pretty awesome. As I mentioned, the sides offer interesting facts. For this particular story it talks about Shepherd and Flock, Sandals, and “Yahweh” which translate as “I am who I am” I think it really helps in kids being able to picture what they are reading. You can purchase your copy from New Leaf Publishing Group and also find it online at Amazon.comAlso, don’t forget to join Masterbook Moms for the Illustrated Family Bible Stories Facebook party on April 29th at 7PM CST!
