LeapFrog’s Peek-a-Shoe Talking Octopus

For the past few days my boys have been having a “ball” with the Peek-a-Shoe from LeapFrog. This toy is suggested for ages up to 36 months and my one year old adores it but to my surprise so does my four year old. They actually fight over who gets to put the balls in and who gets to find them. Although I do think they have figured it out. My one year old has more fun putting the balls in and the four year old has more fun playing Peek-a-Shoe.

So are you wondering what the heck a Peek-a Shoe Octopus is? The Peek-a-Shoe is a shoe-wearing octopus. He is made of a sturdy plastic and has 5 different colored shoes along with an adorable white sailor hate.  Peek-a-Shoe Octopus also comes with 5 balls and does require very little assembly. I was able to assemble it without the directions.  He also needs 2 AA batteries which is not included.  The only problem I have is the boys popping off the little shoes when they gets super excited in the play.  As I write this, little Peek-a-Shoe is looking at me and is missing shoe #3 and shoe #5.  Maybe I am not getting them on tight enough. I am going to have my husband double check this tonight when he gets home.

The way Mr. Peek-a-Shoe works is that you drop in a ball and look for it under the brightly-colored, numbered shoes. While doing this your little one will explore counting, colors and even learn about different sea animals. Press his collar to add music to the mix!  Now if you are anything like me, I am always looking for balls.  We currently have three different ball toys and all the balls are different weight and sizes.  I seem to spend a lot of time searching for balls, but really I’m not complaining since my little guys have a blast with these toys.  However, the nice thing about the LeapFrog Peek-A-Shoe is that if you are unable to find the balls you can always order a new pack at only $9.99. This I love since I stress to them so much about losing the balls and that we might not be able to find more.  At least I know with LeapFrog I will be able to purchase more.

The LeapFrog Peek-A-Shoe is suggested for children ages 9 to 36 months and has a SRP of $29.99.  This is an awesome toy that keeps my little ones busy.
