Lottie Dolls For The True Little Girl In Your Life

When it comes to kids toys is there anything that makes you shake your head or feel uncomfortable?  For me, it is dolls and barbies that are very mature looking.  Dressed in cloth that can barely be considered clothing, high heels and a face full of makeup.  I can’t help but wonder what exactly the designers of such dolls were thinking when they put them together.  They in no way, shape or form resemble the little girls who play with them.  Likewise, I feel such dolls portray the idea that you have to look or act a certain way, giving little girls a skewed idea of self-worth.

At almost four years old, Caroline is really starting to get into the doll scene.  In an attempt to find a doll that is not too babyish but not overly grown up, I realized that it is easier said than done.  Fortuantely, around the same time we were asked to review a Lottie Doll.  I knew then and there that Lottie Dolls were our answer!

Lottie Dolls are designed to look and act like true little girls.  Geared towards children 3-9 years old, Lottie dolls have childlike bodies, dress appropriate for the age and come with fun hobby and accessory packs.  They are bold, brave and all around very “pro-girl”.  Lottie Dolls encourage little girls to be just that, little girls.  They don’t encourage or rush the idea of growing up too soon.  Since making her debut, Lottie Dolls have won 19 awards in the USA, Canada and UK including the Positive Role Model Award and have gained international press coverage.

Lottie Dolls measure 7″ in height and come with fun, bright, stylish and conservative clothing.  There are several dolls to choose from.  There are various skin and hair color options which raises the bar in my opinion.  Each doll also has a specific theme which is really neat.  For example, the School Days Lottie dressed in a school uniform and carrying a backpack and leadership tip cards for little girls. There is even a boy doll named Finn.  Finn comes with a Kite Flying kit and has an optional Gone Fishing kit that can be purchased separately.

For this review, we were sent Autumn Leaves Lottie.  This Lottie comes with a scarf, leggings, a corduroy skirt, duffel coat, hat, boots and a long sleeve t-shirt with a removable patch.   Caroline has loved the doll so far!  It is so neat watching her use her imagination by prancing the doll around and talking to her. She has dressed, undressed and redressed the doll countless times and each time finds new variations and details. The amount of detail put into the doll’s clothing is quite impressive! I personally love the fact that the clothes and doll herself is very well made.  I remember the horrendous struggle of trying to get some cheap plastic clothing on my Barbie dolls as a child, there is no such struggle with the Lottie Doll.

In addition to the fun and unique dolls, their website is very kid-friendly and bursting with fun. From printable coloring pages, printable door hangers, recipes for kids, super science and more, there is plenty to see and do for parents and kids alike on lottie.com. If you are looking for a great, wholesome doll for any child this holiday season, look no further. It is safe to say that at $19.95 the Lottie Doll is an affordable doll that can be treasured for quite sometime.
