We homeschool our six year old so a lot of times he has learning activities and crafts that we do with his school. While not all of them are too hard for our three year old to participate in, some of them are. I am always on the lookout for fun activities to do with my three year old so he can have “school” too.  With that being said, I have to tell you about M is for Monster.

For the month of March we got the opportunity to check out one of their boxes.  Not only was the box a hit with

January Box

my three year old but my six year old was more than happy to jump in.   M is for Monster is a learning and craft box that has everything you need for complete the lessons included.  I have to admit that M is for Monster delivered more than I expected.   When I say it includes everything..i mean EVERYTHING.  It came with crayons, dish soap and even a book!! Yes..a book!!

The box is broken down into weekly activities for your little one which I love.  My little guy gets bored if we do too much at one time so the weekly activities gave him something special to look forward too.  To give you an example of what to expect, here is the March Weekly Activities.

Week 1: Weather
1. My Weather Station (my three year old still is doing this daily).  Cut apart the four types of weather cards.  Attach Velcro to the back of the card as well as to the chart so that the child can pick off the correct picture and put it at the top of the chart to represent the weather.  Talk to your child about the different types of weather.   See website for more information on this project.
2. Tornado in a Jar: Put water in the jar and add a small amount of dish soap.  Shake the bottle up and watch the “tornado” appear.

Week 2: Lucky Green
1. Shamrock Wreath: Glue the shamrocks around the wreath form.  Tie the ribbon on.
2. Paper Chain Pattern: Using the strips of paper, glue the ends of the first strip together to form loop. Hold ends together until they stick.  Place the second strip of paper through the newly made loop.  Again, join the ends of the strip together with glue, tape, or staples.  Make a pattern using the different colors.
3. Gold Coin Addition: Toddler-Count the coins on the card and have your child trace the number.  Preschool-Cut the cards along the lines.  Lay the cards out so that your child will need to add them together.  Have them use the corresponding cards to match the numbers.  See website for information on this project.

Week 3: Elephants
1. Elephant Trumpet: Have your child color the elephant and then cut out the center  hole.  Insert the party blowout and have your child “trumpet” like an elephant.
2. E is for Elephant-Using the circle stickers, have your child place them throughout the letter E.  Let them practice tracing and writing the letter E.
3. Elephant Sizing: Place the elephants in order from smallest to biggest.  Let them use the numbers as a guide or vice versa
4. Read the book: “Monkey and Elephant” byCarole Lexa Schaefer

Week 4: Your Choice!
1. Make Your Own Book: Let your child make their own book.  For inspiration, see the website
2. Practice writing: using the blank paper, write your child’s name on it or for the younger ones, draw shapes.  Put the paper between the laminate and seal.  Let your child use the dry erase marker, have them practice tracing their name and shapes.

My little guys had their favorite activities but all in all they enjoyed every bit of and I enjoyed it too.  I always say that I have to be the most uncrafty person in the world.  Seriously coming up with craft ideas for my boys is the hardest thing ever and I am very bad at putting it off.  With this box though, the directions are easy to follow, the activities are doable without being long and we enjoyed all sitting down and doing it as family.  Both of my boys shared this box. They took turn doing the different activities and had a blast!!
