My husband and I seems to toss chia seeds in several things.  We use them in our overnight oats, shakes and even regular oats.  The reason we use them every chance we get is that they offer so many wonderful health benefits and they are super simple to incorporate in so many recipes.

Recently we had the opportunity to try out the Mamma Chia Squeeze Vitality Snack
as well as the Vitality beverages and they were a hit.  My seven year old absolutely loves theh Mamma Chia Squeeze pouches which makes me a very happy mamma!  He is very picky and some textures really throw him off, but these he loved! I would much rather him have one of these a day than the other squeeze pouches on the market.

The Mamma Chia Squeeze packs are available in six tasty flavors that offer 4 grams of fiber, 1,200 mg of Omega-3s and for those of you that do Weight Watchers, it counts as 1 WW point.  The flavors available are:

  • Apple Cinnamon
  • Blakcberry Bliss
  • Green Magic
  • Mango Coconut
  • Strawberry Banana
  • Wild Raspberry
Now personally for me  I loved them all, but my seven year old’s favorites were the wild raspberry, Blackberry bliss and Strawberry Banana.   These squeeze pouches contain 70-calories with no added sugars! These are wonderful for grab and go snacks since they need no refrigeration!

A personal favorite of mine is the Organic Vitality Beverages.  Surprisingly my seven year loved these too.  He would drink about half a day which was the perfect amount for him.  I could easily drink it all because they are just that awesome!  This product is the one that kicked off the mama chia beverage category.  It is lightly sweetened with less than one tablespoon of organic agave nectar and one bottle contains more than an entire day’s worth of Omega-3.  I can’t really say I have a favorite flavor out of these because they are all amazing!  Mamma Chia Organic Vitality Beverages offer 9 flavors to choose from as well as giving you 6g fiber, 95 mg calcium and only 120 calories per bottle.  The flavors are:

  • Strawberry Lemonade
  • Pineapple Coconut
  • Blackberry Hibiscus
  • Cherry lime
  • Coconut Mango
  • Cranberry Lemonade
  • Guava Mamma
  • Pomegranate Mint
  • Raspberry Passion

The Organic Vitality Beverages run around $2.99 a bottle.

Now there are two other products that I want to tell you about that I haven’t yet checked out, but I’m pretty confident that they would be just as awesome as the other two products above.

The first one I want to tell you about is the Mamma Chia Organic Clean Energy Drink. It’s the first beverages to combine power of chia with the clean energy of Guayusa and organic fruit juice.  I can easily see me using this as a pre-workout drink.   This product is available in four different flavors and contains 6g of fiber, 90 mg natural caffeine (equal to an 8oz cup of coffee) and 2x the antioxidants of one cup of green tea!  The flavors available in this product are:

  • Blackberry Blast
  • Cherry Charge
  • Grape Power
  • Raspberry Razz

Last but not least I want to tell you about the simple yet amazing Organic Chia Seeds.  Mamma Chia organic seeds are USDA certified Organic and Non-GMO verified.   Available in black and white varieties, chis seeds are rich in Omega-3s, antioxidants, protein and fiber making them a wonderful and nutrient dense addition to salads, smoothies, baked goods and more.  Here is a tasty little smoothie recipe that I’m sure you will enjoy!

Chi-Berry Shake
(serves 2)

2 Tablespoons black or white chia seeds
1 cup purified water
2 cups frozen mixed berries (such as blackberries, strawberries, blueberries and marionberries), plus more for garnish (optional)
Pinch of ground cardamom
1 cup plain unsweetened vanilla almond milk
2 tablespoons agave nectar or honey
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1/2 Hass Avocado

In a liquid measuring cup or small bowl, whisk together the chia seeds and water and let stand for about 20 minutes.  (makes about 1 1/8 cups chia gel)

Place the chia gel, frozen berries, cardamom, almond milk, agave nectar, vanilla and avocado in a blender.  Cover and blend on high until thick and creamy.

Pour into two glasses and serve immediately.

Mamma Chia products are available at Target, Costco, Whole Foods Market and grocery stores nationwide.
