Mr. Hare’s Big Secret #BookReview

Who doesn’t love to hear a secret? In Mr. Hare’s Big Secret, written by Hannah Dale, Mr. Hare has a secret that all his friends want to hear.  However, the only way that he’ll tell them the secret is if they dance under the cherry tree.   Mr. Hare's Big Secret

This big secret is, there are big, juicy cherries at the top of the tree, but he needs his friends’ help to get them down. One by one, he tricks each friend into dancing with him under the tree, until all the cherries fall to the ground and the forest friends have a great feast.

This beautifully written and illustrated book was a hit with my five-year old. Not only did we fall in love with the characters, but we all had to laugh at the site of the adorable little animals dancing under the tree.  Accumulation, sound words, repetition, and pure entertainment make this the perfect read-aloud book for adults and children alike.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Debut author-illustrator Hannah Dale has her own successful company, Wrendale Designs, which started on a crowded farmhouse kitchen table. With an eclectic background in art, biology, and the London Stock Exchange, Hannah began painting rabbits when she and her husband had their baby, because she was drawn to their expressive faces—a trait she captures perfectly in Mr. Hare’s Big Secret.
