NOPE! A Tale of First Flight
Synopsis:
The time has come for Little Bird to take flight. What could be waiting for him out in the world? A snarling wildcat? Vicious wolves? Hungry crocodiles?! “Nope!” he proclaims. Leaving the nest is not an option. But Mama Bird’s kisses and cuddles—and a swift but encouraging kick out of the nest—help the tiny bird soar.
NOPE! is a quite literal “leaving the nest” story which may remind some parents of when their child first started school or spent their first night away from home. The relatability of this amusing story makes it perfect for multiple occasions – from back to school, graduations, Mother’s Day, and more.
Kids (and adults) who read NOPE! will be inspired to face their own fears and soar. This laugh-out-loud picture book also instills a timeless assertion – mama always knows best.

My Thoughts:
This nearly wordless picture book has been a wonderful addition to our home library. The illustrations are bright and colorful, and it’s so much fun listening to little ones put in their own words and reaction with the turn of each page.
