My boys love arts and craft time! They love to get out their supplies and dream up ideas. Metamorphic Toys’ Everythingland Mailbox was the perfect project for them. You start out with a basic plan mailbox and then you can really decide to do anything. We also had the Eco-Art U Stick’Ems to go along with the Mailbox (they sell this as a deluxe kit or you can purchase both separate). This is what inspired my kids to make their Ocean themed mailbox! They only used one sheet so there are many more for additional projects. A great value in my opinion!

The company was founded by David Berglund, a dad who was concerned about how much imaginative, experiential, creative play his child was getting. With an industrial design background, he debuted his line of eco-friendly toys at Toy Fair 2012.
Metamorphic Toys has 3 core products:
o A 10” x 10” x 24” toy mailbox that can be assembled in two easy steps with no tools or glue, and is made from sturdy corrugated cardboard that is 100% recyclable.
o A series of Welcome To, Do Not Enter and Caution Mythical Creatures Silly Signs, that include a sign post and base, frame and a trio of reversible sign placards that kids can design.
Everthingland Eco-Art U-Stick’Ems
o Package of 97 glue-less, pre-cut stick-ons includes a home-made eco-friendly paste recipe. Give kids more control over art projects and extend the play value over ordinary stickers. Use a glue stick, paste, paint or make your own glue for eco-friendly fun.
My Thoughts:
As soon as we opened this box the kids were super excited! Ideas of what to do and how to decorate the mailbox flowed! We have decided to homeschool this year and this was one of our first big projects. They looked through the Eco-Art U-Stick’Ems and picked the ocean themed. Love these stickers because first off they are uncolored so your kids have to use their imagination to decide what they want them to look like. Also they are not sticky so you have to stick them yourselves! We busted out some paint for the project and that was a lesson in patience because they had to wait for each coat to dry. Then the real creativity started. They colored the U-StickEm’s and Xander searched for some green pipe cleaners we had. He used them for seaweed. Next Austin remembered we had some leftover pebbles from our fish so he glued those on the bottom. They used a few seashells from last years vacation to finish it all off.
This project was so much more than just arts and crafts. The boys had to use their thinking skills to design their look. They had to work together to complete the project and they had to think of materials to use that we had on hand. I was incredibly proud of how well it turned out and how well they worked together. We’ve decided to put the mailbox ontop of the piano this week and ‘see’ if any letters show up. I think it might be neat to check once a week and see what we can find in there. Perhaps notes of encouragement?
