Bicycles and helmets go hand in hand and in many states wearing a helmet is the law. Did you know that the use of a proper helmet reduces the risk of a brain injury by 88% and a fatal crash by 75%? I remember my first helmet like I remember my first bicycle, it was pink with Barbie on it and I remember how cool I felt wearing it! Not only could I ride a bicycle but I could ride in style with Barbie. I even had matching knee and elbow pads but I don’t recall wearing them as much as I did the helmet.
Raskullz Kids Bike Helmets
At the young age of 6, Jaydon has already had three bikes and several helmets in his possession. Although he likes to clown around all the time, he is very careful when riding his bike. He even has an electric dirt bike that he rides as I watch on pins and needles just waiting for something to happen. I don’t think I will ever fully embrace the fact that he is into riding and riding fast be it the dirt bike or bicycle; but I feel slightly better knowing that each and every time he rides he is fully protected with the appropriate protective gear. He has a DOT approved helmet for the dirt bike and thanks to Raskullz he has a cool new helmet for his bicycle.
Raskullz is a fun company that offers protective helmets for children. Each helmet offers a different 3D character such as the Brainy Bunny, Gorilla, Giddi Yup and Cutie Cat just to name a few. All of the helmets are equipped with aerodynamic cooling vents, a shock absorbing EPS inner shell and adjustable straps. Raskullz is passionate about the safety of little ones and therefore, each helmet is made to exceed all current safety standards. Raskullz helmets retail from $19.99- $24.99 which in my opinion is a small price to pay for safety.
Super fun designs!
We had the opportunity to review the Mohawk helmet in black. We chose a size 5+ and it fits Jaydon beautifully, not loose and not to tight, just how you want a helmet to fit. When Jaydon first saw this helmet his little eyes lit up and he had to immediately put it on, tags and all still attached! Of course, he was very careful not to mess up the little mohawk he had going on with his hair. He described it as the “coolest and best helmet he has ever had”. It is obvious that the helmet is very durable and the mohawk part is made out of rubber-like material that I am confident will hold up for quite some time. Jaydon loves his new mohawk helmet and I am confident that each time he wears it his little head will be protected which to me is a double success! Here is a picture of him trying it on for the first time:
More than just bike helmets
In addition to helmets, Raskullz offers matching backpacks and bicycles to make up a completely awesome riding ensemble! C.Preme, the creators of Raskullz has recently created KRASH! which is essentially the big brother to Raskullz. KRASH! offers helmets for children 8+ and offers a slightly more grownup feel in regards to design. Some of these designs include the Krash Kitty, Liberty Spikes and Cube Hurt.
