With the July 4th celebrations around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about games for the kiddos. One of my boy’s favorite games is this easy DIY July 4th Can Knock Down. Not only is it fun to play, but it’s a great way to up-cycle and get the kiddos involved.

July 4th DIY Can Knock Down
We had so much fun upcycling used cans and painting them for this game. You can be as creative as you want, and just have fun!
How we made ours
To make your own Red, White & Blue Can Knock Down, you’ll need:
• 6, 15-ounce metal cans
• White, Red & Blue acrylic paint
• Rust-Oleum Crystal Clean Enamel (optional)
To get started, remove the labels from the cans. This is pretty simple to do. Sometimes there is glue still left, but after soaking in hot water it will come right off.
Once the cans have been washed and dried, it’s time to start painting.
We did all our designs free-hand, but you can certainly use stencils.
Once the paint dries, you can then coat it with the Rust-Oleum Crystal Clear Enamel. This step isn’t necessary, but after several rounds of play, the paint started scuffing. Once we added the seal they were good to go.
DIY Bean Bags
We used the bean bags from our corn hole board, but have made them in the past for activities. One of our favorite DIY Bean Bag craft can be found HERE.
