Roku and RealPlayer Cloud

I’m curious as to how many of my readers are familiar with Roku 2 ?  I had heard about it in the past and my husband had mentioned it at one time but that’s all I knew.

Recently our family has had the chance to check out this handy, dandy little device and I am loving it. I admit that I find it pretty awesome. I use my iPhone for practically everything.  Photos, home movies, scheduling, etc.  The sad part is, I rarely seem to get these home movies transferred to another device so that our entire family can watch and enjoy them.

 

 Here is a recent video taken from a family outing enjoy a day at the beach.  Normally these videos would stay on my phone or digital video camera and never make it off for everyone to enjoy, but with RealPlayer Cloud I can upload directly from my phone and view it at any time.  It’s nice being able to enjoy family videos on the television instead of from my tiny phone screen.

Also, this is a huge life saver because it helps me to free up space on my phone.  As we know, with iPhones you can’t pop in an addition SD card for more memory and I always worry about just putting them on computer thinking of the “what ifs”.  With RealPlayer Cloud I can upload it, share and download it on any device I need to at any time which is pretty awesome!

As far the the video quality and streaming, so far it seems to go pretty good.  There are times when the Roku 2 takes a little longer running the videos but from my computer, iPad and phone it starts right away with no delay, no skipping and brings awesome quality!
