Did you know that a pumpkin is considered a fruit? Until recently, I have grouped it together with veggies. That was until I started researching it more in-depth for one of our homeschool projects. However, be it classified as a fruit or veggie, it’s one of the most loved treats this time of year. Everyone is wanting pumpkin something and that’s why I’m pretty excited to tell all my readers about the new, and tasty Krusteaz products we’ve been evening.
First off, we love the Krusteaz brand at our house. When I’m not able to make something from scratch due to time restraints, Krusteaz is the brand I trust. From waffles, pancakes, muffins and so much more. Anyone with kids will be quick to tell you that it’s amazing how last minute they announce they need a snack for meeting or planned event and you’re always the last one to get the memo until it’s almost too late, so it would be fair to say Krusteaz has saved me a time or two through my 24 years of parenthood thus far.
Recently we were sent several different Krusteaz products to try and to my delight I noticed that they have even changed the box design, and I’m loving the new design. We were sent two boxes of the following mixes:
• Buttermilk Pancake Mix
• Belgian Waffle Mix
• Pumpkin Spice Pancake Mix
• Pumpkin Spice Muffin Mix
• Cranberry Orange Muffin Mix
Not only that, they they also sent a Krusteaz tote bag that’s been amazing for transporting the goodies, along with an oven mitt and selfie stick.
This awesome Krusteaz pack arrived just in time. While I didn’t have time to whip up an original recipe like last year (chicken and waffles recipe can be found here), I did pull out the Pumpkin Spice Muffin Mix and lets just say it saved the day. I got a call that we needed to be at a meeting last minute and was asked to bring a tasty treat along. I couldn’t’ think of anything better than the Pumpkin Spice Muffin Mix.
These muffins came out so fluffy and moist, and they received tons of compliments at the event. I also made cookies using the pumpkin pancake mix, but they disappeared before I managed to get a picture of those. No worries though. I’ll do another batch and be sure to share the photo and recipe for you. They are super simple to do, and are totally worth either purchasing cream cheese icing or making your own to go on top.
