SchoolhouseTeachers.com offer tons of elementary homeschool courses that I can use for both my boys. Right now, we have mainly focused on the elementary Science and the photography elective with my eight-year-old, but are looking forward to venturing into the additional courses for both boys.

Bible Course
Since mid-November, we have done the Dinosaurs and the Bible course taught by Patrick Nurre. This course is only 16 weeks long, and goes great with our current dinosaur study. Every week there is a new video added along with student worksheet and parent answer sheet. We have enjoyed looking at the myths surrounding dinosaurs and what they have to do with the Bible. My eight-year old and I watch the videos together and then orally discuss what was learned. Once we complete this course, we will be moving onto the Nature/Outdoors course. This course will offer fourteen monthly units and explore twenty-two parts of nature. We are really looking forward to starting this unit since our family is big on the outdoors. Photography
For Christmas, my husband purchased me a new SLR camera, so my old one has been handed down to our eight-year old since he has a passion for photography like I always have. Since he know how his own camera, we have started taking the Photographer class that’s taught by Michele Peterson. This is a 30 week class that’s designed for all skill levels. I love how it starts out with just the basics on how to use the camera. It also encourages them to capture the moments in life that God has placed before us. Each week is a new assignment that goes along with the lessons. Throughout the 30 weeks, my eight-year old will learn about foot photography, portraits, landscape (one of my personal favs) and much more. He looks forward to a new lesson every week. My kiddos have also been enjoying the Rightnow Media library. It has over 10,000 video resources for families, and includes family favorites like: VeggieTales, Adventures in Odyssey, What’s in the Bible, Dave Ramsey and so much more. All in all we loved every aspect of the site. The classes are well-organized and it’s super easy to navigate. The variety classes are perfect for our family, and I’m looking forward to adding more into our curriculum line-up. This is definitely a site that I would highly recommend to any homeschooling family.
