For many, many years I have always used non-stick pots and pans for everything that I cook pretty much. I do on occasion cook with cast iron, but who am I kidding. Even though they do cook wonderfully, I really hate cleaning them and re-seasoning them in the end.
Over the past two years, I have tried to slowly but surely introduce a greener lifestyle to my family. From worrying about plastics being BPA free to the safety of non-stick pots and pans.
I recently had the opportunity to try this wonderful Eco-Chef pan from StarFrit. I wasn’t sure what to expect at first, but all I can say now that I have used it is WOW! This pan is amazing! I have used this pan twice a day for a month straight. The reason behind this is that I really want to give you a good review.
Since I have always used lots of non-stick pans over the years, I have been very impressed with this product. As far as the weight goes, it isn’t super heavy but you can definitely tell it isn’t a thin pan that isn’t going to last either. This pan is made to heat up evenly (they recommend heating the pan before placing food in it). The food is cooked evenly. The Ceram-Eco non-stick surface is very smooth and easy to clean. It only takes a little warm water and soap to get it clean. I have never had to scrub this pan no matter what I cook in it. It is recommended that you hand-wash only, but I never put my pots and pans in the dishwasher, so this really isn’t a big deal to me.
Here is a little video of me cooking eggs with this pan. As you can see, there really isn’t a problem at all with food sticking unlike other pans I have tried in the past.
