As you all know, I’m part of the Masterbooks Moms group and get to review pretty awesome products. This month we had the opportunity to check out a complete history curriculum for 7th grade. While obviously my boys aren’t in the 7th grade, I love checking out new curriculum because for the most part I know the types of styles that appeal to our family when it comes to learning.
We received the Studies in World History Vol. 1 Teacher guide as well. The teacher guide includes daily calendar, answer keys, daily worksheets and weekly exams which in my opinion saves tons of times when it comes to lesson planning.
The Student book has 34 chapters with weekly reading and discussion questions.
All in all i was very impressed with this curriculum. It covers a broad range of history and I love the reading is not extremely long, but it is informative. For the visual learners, there are pictures throughout the reading and the worksheets are mostly writing exercises. I have a child that hates writing, but I feel it’s very important so having the writing exercises just adds to this curriculum.
It’s a complete year of junior history that examines the world from creation, through the Fertile Crescent, Egypt, India, China, Japan, Greece, Christian history, and more!
With this volume in hand, the student will see history come to life no matter what their pace or ability. This is a comprehensive examination of history, geography, religion, economics and government systems. This educational program equips students to learn from a starting point of God’s creation of the world and move forward with a solid biblically-based worldview.
