About Superbook: A Giant Adventure

David and Goliath is one my five-year old’s favorite Bible story. He is just always mesmerized that David was able to defeat the Giant Goliath with only a stone. He understands that David wouldn’t have been able to do this without God’s help, but still this is an amazing story for a little guy to hear.

I really love how each DVD start’s out with the kids (Chris & Joy) struggling through something in their daily lives? For David and Goliath, Chris was having a hard time being courageous.  He was to play his guitar for a school band audition and got scared. This is when Gizmo (their robot) steps in and takes Chris and Joy on an adventure to meet David in the hills of ancient Bethlehem.

They witnessed first hand how the giant Goliath laughed at God, and how brave David was with the faith of God at his side. This in the end, showed Chris that with God anything is possible. When they arrived back to this day and time, Chris had the courage to play his guitar. And as always at the end of the DVD, it talks about the lessons that were taught throughout the movie.This DVD like the others includes the special “study guide” so that you can talk to your children about what they just watched.

Each of these different topics give you different Bible verses to look up and each has a different prayer to pray. I love extending these lessons out over a course of a couple of weeks.

More about the Superbook Series

The Superbook Series first got it start in 1981 as an Animated Bible series to reach the nation of Japan. However, over time they realized that this series isn’t just impacting Japan, but the entire world.

Our family was first introduced to Gizo, Joy and Chris a couple of years ago and have since fallen in love with the series.  I love how each series starts out with the kids having some type of problem in their daily lives, and then Gizmo takes them back in time and shows them how today’s problems can also relate to the Bible times.
