When it comes to dreaming up influential and lovable children’s book characters, many would think we’ve seen it all. But hold on for a second, the world still hasn’t met Theo the suitcase (yes, the suitcase!), star of a globe-trotting new series of books by Elaine Merces titled: The Adventurous Suitcase.
The first book in The Adventurous Suitcase series is: The First Trip.
Theo is a curious suitcase who decides to take an adventurous journey around the world. His fascination for different people, places and cultures leads him to unique and unforgettable experiences. His first trip is to China, one of the largest countries in the world. During his adventure, Theo learns about Chinese language, food, kung fu and art culture.
After visiting China, Theo had the adventurous spirit and continued his journey. For his next adventure, Theo picked Brazil. He explored it with Sue, a friend that he met along the journey. Both experienced adverse situations, which were subsequently overcome and ended in Brazilian joy.
These books are easy to read and understand. My four year old enjoyed both of these books and asks several questions. His favorite has been the Surrounded by Kindness. They help to introduce Geography to little ones and even includes a map at the end to show the children the location of the country.
