We are blessed to be able to review a lot of books. Every now and again a book arrives that just stands out from all the others. Recently for us, that book was “The Biggest Story: How The Snake Crusher Brings Us Back To The Garden.”The Biggest Story

About the book:

Once upon a time there lived a man and a woman. They were the happiest people on the planet.

True, they were the only people on the planet, but they were still terrifically happy.

Unfortunately, things didn’t stay happy and wonderful for long . . .

The Bible is full of exciting stories that fill children with awe and wonder. But kids need to know how all those classic stories connect to Scripture’s overarching message about God’s glorious plan to redeem his rebellious people.

In The Biggest Story, Kevin DeYoung—a best-selling author and father of six—leads kids and parents alike on an exciting journey through the Bible, connecting the dots from the garden of Eden to Christ’s death on the cross to the new heaven and new earth.

With powerful illustrations by award-winning artist Don Clark, this imaginative retelling of the Bible’s core message—how the Snake Crusher brings us back to the garden—will draw children into the biblical story, teaching them that God’s promises are even bigger and better than we think.

What We Thought:
As I mentioned earlier, there are book and then there are BOOKS. The Biggest Story is the latter. From the minute we opened up this book, we were just drawn to it. The illustrations are so vibrant and beautiful through the entire book. Not only are the illustrations amazing, but the writing is superb.

This book of children’s Bible stories is laid out similar to a chapter book. Our original plan when we first started reading this book was to cover a chapter a day, however that didn’t happen. Once we got started, we finished it completely. My four and eight-year old were completely pulled in they would get excited when we would reach one of their favorite people in the Bible.

If you are looking to add to your children’s Bible story collections, you can’t go wrong with The Biggest Story. This book is truly a work of art!
