I am not sure where the year has gone but the holiday season is upon us once again. It is hard for me to get my mind around the fact that a week from now we will be winding down from a large Thanksgiving dinner and working on setting up our Christmas tree! This is definitely my favorite time of the year for numerous reasons. Not only does our family get together more than any other time of the year but it is also a great excuse to simply eat more sweets! Of course, I am always trying to lose weight so I always make a valid attempt to find lower-calorie options to prepare and bring to holiday gatherings. In my quest to find lower-calorie baked goods I stumbled upon The Butterfly Bakery and couldn’t be happier!
Butterfly Bakery was founded in 1998. They set out to make various sugar free recipes that diabetics could enjoy. Today, they not only have sugar free options but also a full line of Sugar Free, No Sugar Added, Gluten Free, Whole Grain and Low Calorie sweets. Prior to finding this bakery I was always under the impression that sugar free and no sugar added were one in the same. I was excited to learn that there really is a difference. Sugar free items are made with a signature blend of sweeteners while no sugar added is a conglomeration of their sweeteners including 100% natural Stevia and fresh fruit nectar. All items in the ‘garden’ as Butterfly Bakery commonly refers to it as, are all made with one very special and priceless ingredient, 100% pure love!
Butterfly Bakery was vary generous and sent me a pack of sugar free chocolate chip cookies and a six pack of no sugar added mini blueberry muffins. I was pleasantly surprised that these muffins were in my opinion much bigger than mini size. They are made with fresh Maine blueberries and can I just say how moist and delicious they were? Unlike the commercialized little bite snack packs (you know where you eat the whole pack and wonder what’s next), these muffins didn’t have that weird over processed after taste. I typically enjoy my muffins with butter but decided to skip the butter on these and am so happy I did. I think butter would truly take away from the yummy goodness these muffins have to offer.
The sugar free chocolate chip cookies were a big hit with my three year old. She is very picky so I was curious to see if she would notice any difference in these as opposed to other cookies. She took one bite and immediately discovered they were different but kept saying how great they were. I agree with her and love that once again, they didn’t have that highly processed after taste. You can definitely taste quality ingredients in these cookies!
The chocolate chip cookies and blueberry muffins as well as many of their other products retail for $5.99. For right at a dollar each you can enjoy tasty, high quality and healthier treats to satisfy your sweet tooth. If you are looking for a gift, a new line of treats for your self or your family or treats that meet various dietary restrictions but don’t cut out deliciousness, I highly recommend The Butterfly Bakery! I will be ordering from them very soon and hope you will do the same. For further information check them out on all social media sites including, Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.
