As I mentioned in an earlier post, I love finding family friendly books to put out on my coffee table through the holiday seasons. I always look for books that help add that little extra special of magic for the holidays. One book that will be a keeper on our coffee table through the holiday season is “The Christmas Magic” written by Lauren Thomas.
When I first read this book to my son it had his complete attention. You could see the excitement building in his little eyes as we read more and more into the book! The illustration is wonderful and reminds me so much of the Father Christmas collection that my mother in law has. I love how it starts with explaining the little steps as Santa gets ready for his big day by telling how he feeds the reindeer. My son just couldn’t wait to what was going to happen at the turn of every page. Also, he is just at the age to where this year he is really taking in everything about Santa!
About The Book
Far, far North, when the nights are longest and the stars shine brightest, Santa begins to prepare for his big night of giving. He gathers his reindeer, feeds them parsnips and berries, and polishes his bells and his sled. Then lovingly, he chooses toys for
every child in the world. For Santa loves them all, and he knows what each child at heart wants most. Then, with the thrum of magic that makes reindeers fly, he spreads the Christmas joy and warmth throughout the world–as he always has — and always will until the end of time.
This book is a wonderful addition to any holiday collection and can be purchased on Scholastic and other stores for $16.99.
