Potty training…it’s a big and exciting step for both the parents and the child. Over the years I have learned a few lessons a long the way with one of the biggest being that it doesn’t matter when I’m ready to start the potty training process. What does matter is when our child is ready.pampers1

Pampers Easy-Ups recently sent us a big surprise to help add to the excitement of potty training! Check out the below video to see the awesome encouraging letter as well the fun gift we received!

As you can see from the video, he was pretty excited about the package, and the box is still being played with daily.

The reason we choose Pampers Easy Ups is because it’s simply the easiest way to underwear! Obviously that’s their statement, but I can’t agree more. With the new Pampers Easy Ups Training Underwear they feel and look more like real underwear while still giving the outstanding leak-protection you’d expect from Pampers. bbcx06297214_silk6_hk_kvLuke loved the Thomas on his training underwear and had to show everyone, and to no surprise, Pampers Easy Ups offer superior comfort both day and night. That’s right, I said night. With the Dual Leak-Guard Barriers™ around the legs to prevent leaks, we were completely confident with using Pampers Easy Ups at night.pampers2

One thing I noticed over the years, is that different things work for different toddlers when it comes to potty training. Here are a few Potty training tips that worked for us.

Praise them: We always make a huge deal out of a visit to the potty and it works. We make up silly little potty songs and just have fun. Ending with claps and high-fives.

Give them a special potty: They have always got a special potty that I introduce to them before they actually start using it. We put it in a special place for them and let them get familiar with it before the training process begins.

Read together: This may sound off, but a lot of times I sit beside the potty and we read a book. It helps the time pass faster and they aren’t in such a hurry to jump off the potty.

Use treats and surprises: This is going to vary depending on the child. My oldest liked little surprises like you would find in a pack from the Dollar Tree to where our youngest loves marking off a chart. There is just something special about picking out a sticker and placing it on the chart after a successful potty trip.

If you are coming up on the potty training process, be sure to keep Pampers Easy Ups in mind. The new Pampers Easy Ups became available in August in sizes 2T-3T, 3T-4T, and 4T-5T.
