Traveling is something I have enjoyed for some time now. I love seeing new places and learning about the various people that make up those places. While I have only been out of the country once on a mission trip to Jamaica and it was such a wonderful and eye-opening experience! One of the many things I want for my daughter is for her to have culture in her life.
Lily’s Fun Tees
I recently found a wonderful company called Lately Lily. Lately Lily offers fun, bright and colorful tee shirts for little girls size 2-6. Each shirt is uniquely different from the next. Many of them feature Lily herself while others feature items and ideas unique to her travels. I had so much fun looking at the online look book that I honestly didn’t know which shirt to pick for review. We received a generous package of four different tee shirts; the Palpaca, Parade, Souvenir and Peru Rail. I love all four of these shirts but my absolute favorite is the Peru Rail. I think it is the cute little faces that are shown inside the train that makes me like it so much! Here is miss Caroline in the Palpaca shirt.
About the Company:
Lately Lily is a collaboration between Author / Illustrator Micah Player and Apparel Designer Erin Nichols.
Each season follows our character Lily, the curious daughter of a photographer and writer for the International Exposition (Definitive Journal of Global Curiosity), as she travels the world with them in the company of her best friend, Zeborah. Lily writes in her notebook about what she has seen and where she has been, lately. These notes become the hangtags to and inspiration for our teeshirt designs.
As parents and designers, we’re struck by the thoughtful observations and deep curiosity of our children daily. Lately, Lily is a chance to daydream about far off places through the eyes of an adventurous child.
The two of us each grew up following favorite children’s book characters like Madeline, Curious George, Lyle the Crocodile, Harry the Dirty Dog and Corduroy. With Lately, Lily we hope to bring the soul of a vintage picture book to children’s graphic tees, with engaging characters, sincere design and honest curiosity about the people and places of the world.
Each of the twenty five distinctly different tee shirts offered by Lately Lily retail for $32 a piece. They can be purchased directly from latelylily.com. In my opinion these shirts run on the smaller side so I would recommend ordering a size or two up. The shirts we received for review were 3T and although they were slightly big on Caroline, I was surprised to see that they were not huge and falling off of her (she is only in a 12-18 months right now).
