Ever since I was a child I have had a deep passion for travel and learning about various cultures. I have traveled to many locations within the United States and have been out of the country on a mission trip to Jamaica. It is amazing to see such diversity within our own country as far as people, food, commonly and not so commonly products are concerned. Step outside the country and it feels like a whole different world. I enjoy learning about and trying products and food that other countries consider second nature. You can only imagine how happy I was when I found an awesome company called Try The World.
Try The World selects only the finest gourmet food and products, boxes them up and ships them directly to your door. Try The World has launched with their awesome collaboration from Paris. Like many other people, going to Paris is a dream but with this beautifully curated box you can discover commonly used and desired products from across France. Once you subscribe to Try The World you will receive a gourmet box from a new city every two months. The subscription is easy. Simply pay $45 per box, enjoy free shipping and the ability to cancel at anytime during the subscription with no hassle. Sounds fair enough to me!
For this review Try The World generously sent me one of their Paris boxes. I immediately took notice to how pretty the box was. It was packed perfectly with neat products that I found myself ohhhing and ahhing over everything I pulled out. Here is a list of what can be found in a gourmet
1. Tea blends by Le Palais des Thés
2. Salted butter caramels by Le Petit Saunier
3. Chabert & Guillot nougat bars
4. Artisanal natural jams and honey by Alain Milliat
5. Sel de Guérande flower of salt (fleur de sel) from Brittany
6. Traditional hot cocoa by Les Confitures à L’Ancienne
7. Chestnut cream by Clement Faugier
8. French olive Tapenade
9. Chocolate covered meringues by Pecou
In addition to these delicacies, the Paris Box includes authentic cultural finds, such as a handpicked playlist by French DJs Marvin and Oscar and a list of top French movies chosen by a French Filmmaker.
Being the chocolate lover that I am, my favorite item in the box were the chocolate covered meringues. They were a lovely mix of milk and dark chocolate which was right up my alley! I paired the jams with an english muffin and can I just say, oh my! They were absolutely delicious. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the hot cocoa while the hubby and I enjoyed sipping on the tea. Each item was unique and while some were extremely foreign to us like the Chestnut cream, they were all fun to try. We also had a good time trying to pronounce each item (just picture an extremely country twain speaking French and you have my hubby). The post cards describing each item were a great help and an asset to the box.
If you are in the market for a unique gift for the person who has everything, I highly recommend Try The World. You can do as much or as little as you choose with one box or a full subscription. Either way, this gift is one of a kind and sure to be loved by all. Be sure to check out Try The World on social media site such as Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.
