I love how curious children are and the smallest things spark their curiosity. While they are eager to learn, it is important for us as parents to find the tools to help them. I know you have heard me say numerous times on my site that my 2 1/2 year old is very curious when it comes to words. No matter where we are at, he always asks me what things say. Even in the car driving down the road he will point to road signs and ask me what they say. So while he is showing so much curiosity with words, I want to provide him with products that encourages it!
Did you now that recently Vtech has came out with a new product to encouraging reading called the Bugsby Reading System? Bugsby is an adorable little guy that my son absolutely loves! He is so easy to handle for little hands and even his antennas light up when you turn him on. Bugsby takes them on fantastic adventures that involves reading and even playing games throughout the books and is recommended for children ages 3-7. Here is a little video that I managed to capture while he was playing with Bugby.
If you were to ask me my favorite feature about the Vtech Bugsby, without even thinking it would be the cartridges for the books. It just saves so much time when there isn’t a need for downloading, plus Bugsby’s memory will not fill up as you just change the cartridge with every book. The cartridge is in a handy little compartment that is made into the book, this way as you change books the cartridge can be easily placed back into each book. The bright illustrations on these books really bring the story to life. My son can sit for 30 minutes at a time exploring one book. There are just so many different activities that can be done!
You may be wondering what types of books there are to pick from, especially with this being a new product. Actually there is a great selection to pick from and some even star Bugsby as well! Some popular characters that your children may already be familiar with are Wonder Pets, Max and Ruby, Olivia and many more! I have noticed with my son that if it contains a familiar character, it draws him in even more!
Bugsby would make an excellent holiday addition to any wish list and can be purchased at online at Vtech, Walmart, Target, Amazon and many more locations. The average cost for the Bugsby kit is $29.99 and we have been extremely pleased with ours!
