One of the items that seems to be appearing on wish lists this year is the Vtech KidiZoom Smartwater DX which is no surprise. My boys (ages 4 & 8) have tested out this watch and they are really enjoying it. To my surprise, my eight-year old enjoys the most. He is always wearing and using it.
VTech Kidizoom Smartwatch DX is designed for kids ages 4-9 and and offers better specs including double the internal memory and improved image quality. Plus it offers new features such as exciting motion-activated games, eye-catching 3D clock faces and new tools to hone basic math skills.
If you have a budding photographer/videographer like I do, they they are going to LOVE the ability to take tons of pictures and video and get creative with fun photo effects, video camera and voice recorder with voice-changing effects. This is one of my eight-year old’s favorite feature. That and the location of the lens makes him feel he’s being super sneaky when it comes to taking some video and photos.
In addition to all that, it also has the features that we love in our watches. It has an alarm, timer and stopwatch. It also has 2 new tools including a calendar feature and a calculator so that your child can work out simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division problems. Mine have really enjoyed the alarm, so much so, that they felt they needed to set it with their little voice being the alarm. It went off one morning around 4 A.M and that left my husband and I scrambling to find where they last had it so we could turn off the alarm.
It does come in a variety of colors which I love. We currently have the blue and since we only have one of these awesome watches, mine as requested a camo on too. They also have colors that will appeal to girls as well.
Another thing about this watch that I love is that it comes with both digital and analog display which is awesome. Not only that, but they have more than 50 3D clock face designs and is splash proof for everyday play. Just remember, splash proof doesn’t mean you can take with it on. I had to explain that to the boys for sure.
Last but certainly not least, it does have a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery and includes micro USB cable to upload photos/videos as well as recharge the battery.
