As a mother of four children, I know more than most about the value of foreign languages. In our town, there are lots of families who have come to settle here from abroad. While most of them speak English with no issues, it’s still nice for my kids to communicate in their mother tongue. With that in mind, I thought today would be the perfect time to draw your attention towards the benefits. At the end of the day, we all want our children to become as intelligent as possible. We also want them to live happy lives in which they can experience many different cultures. As you will learn in just a moment, teaching them a foreign language could set the off on the right path.
- Foreign languages make them smarter
Kids that know how to communicate in a foreign language almost always have a higher IQ than those who can’t. That is one of the reasons why I feel they should be included in the 2016 school curriculum. So, booking some lessons for your children today could mean they do better in their school exams. Alternative dialects encourage people to see the world in a different way. It bursts the bubble they’ve lived in since they were born, and it shows them the world is much bigger than they had imagined previously.
- Foreign languages will encourage understanding
We all know how difficult it can be to see a situation from someone else’s perspective. That is especially true when the other person is from another country, and they don’t speak English. You want your kids to mature without prejudices, and you need them to become empathetic to things they don’t understand. A few lessons with a language instructor could help to turn them into a more rounded individual.
- Foreign languages could help them to get a better job
There are many top companies that trade all over the world. Most of them have to employ people who speak different languages to ensure the smooth running of their operation. If your kids can learn how to speak Mandarin, they could see some amazing prospects in the future. Lots of people who learn that language end up teaching English in China. While there are other roles for which the skills would be useful, that one tends to offer the best job satisfaction. It could allow them to travel to many countries during their career, and that means they will get to see the world.
- Foreign languages could create higher earnings
Being able to speak a foreign language could mean your children earn more money throughout their lifetime. On average, bilingual people tend to make slightly more cash than people who only speak English. That is because there is a broader range of suitable roles available. At the end of the day, there is no need to stick with British and American companies if they are fluent in other forms of communication. There should be no doubts left in your mind about the advantages of having multilingual children. Now all you need to worry about is finding the right teacher who knows how to get good results. Try searching online and reading reviews to locate professionals in your areas with a good track record.
See you tomorrow!
