Apple Picking At Mercier Orchards

This weekend we decided to head out to the apple orchards. I know that next month is going to be all about pumpkin, so I was determined to get some apple time in. Especially since we have been studying and talking about for the entire month of September.

This year we decided to go to Mercier Orchards in Blue Ridge, GA. We haven’t been here in awhile and were ready for a change. While there isn’t a petting zoo, playground or other activities you may find at a lot of the orchards this time of year, the kids still really had a lot of fun.

We did get to take a “hay” ride to the part of the orchard where we start picking. Once there,we had several different varieties to pick from. My little guy was sad that some of his favorite apples had already had their season pass, or that they weren’t ready yet. However, that didn’t prevent us from finding a lot of tasty apples to bring home.

If you aren’t familiar with Mercier Orchard, it’s definitely worth checking out. Not only for their large apple varieties, but also for their delicious baked goods. The fried pies are absolutely amazing! Also, throughout the years they have added wine and cider. They do offer wine and cider tasting in their tasting room. You can do that as part as your visit.

Here is a little video about our adventure:
